Philipp Bolliger received a masters degree (Diplom) in computer science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich, Switzerland, in January 2006. During his studies he worked for AlmafinJaeger and for Winterthur Insurance in a full-time internship. He also worked as a student assistant in the Global Information Systems Group (GlobIS). He joined the Distributed Systems Group at ETH Zürich in April 2006. In Summer 2008, he was working at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in California. |

Research interest:
- Distributed location models
- Location oriented programming
- Location information processing
Projects:
- Redpin
Repin is an open source, adaptive indoor positioning system that was developed with the goal of providing room-level accuracy. By enabling user collaboration, Redpin avoids the time-consuming training and setup phase known from other systems.
- Location Oriented Programming (LOP)
In the LOP project we explore the idea, design and implication of making location a first class programming construct.
- Bandy
An open source software library for the Java Micro Edition to simplify the development of MIDlets.
- Facet
A Smart Camera Network of Mobile Phones.
- UbiGate
Interfacing the Real World with Ubiquitous Service Gateways.
