I received my M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from International University in Germany, after which I worked in the Security Area of the Create-Net research institute in Trento, Italy. I joined the Institute for Pervasive Computing at ETH in February 2008. In summer 2009 I visited the CyLab CUPS lab at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where I worked on usable access control for home storage with Prof. Lorrie Cranor.

Through my research, I hope to help make security and privacy management systems usable (easy to manage and understand by the end-user), starting from mobile interactions such as secure device pairing and reaching to cloud storage and access control policies.

I received the 3rd place at the Young Java Developer's Speaker Competition with the talk "End-to-End Security: Accounting for the User Factor - A Real Case of Application Development." Jazoon Rookie July 2, 2010, Zurich. (slides, video)

I participated in the 40th St. Gallen Symposium, May 6-7, 2010, St. Gallen, Switzerland. The symposium brought together prominent world leaders to discuss the role of entrepreneurs as agents of change. I qualified to participate through the Leader of Tomorrow student competition, with this essay on a novel technology for extracting energy from high-altitude winds: "Winds of Change." (.pdf)

In 2009 I received the Google Anita Borg Scholarship for young women in IT with great technical and leadership skills. I was a scholar finalist in 2008.

In my free time, I like to travel, discuss politics, dance and do outdoor sports.
