Johannes L. Schönberger Ph.D. Student
ETH Zürich

Welcome! I am a doctoral student of Computer Science in the Computer Vision and Geometry Group at ETH Zürich, where I am advised by Marc Pollefeys (ETH) and co-advised by Jan-Michael Frahm (UNC).

Previously, I was a graduate student in the computer vision group at UNC Chapel Hill, a research assistant in the Department of Remote Sensing Technology and the Department of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at the Technische Universität München. As an intern, I spent time at Google and the German Aerospace Center.

My general research interests lie in computer vision, geometry, structure-from-motion, optimization, machine learning, and image processing. More specifically, my research is mostly about inferring the physical world (structure, shape, motion, appearance, etc.) from imagery. You can find my publications on Google Scholar.

Over the years, I contributed to a number of scientific open-source projects, including COLMAP, scikit-image, scikit-learn, NumPy, SciPy, Ceres-Solver, etc. You can find my open-source activities on GitHub.
