We plan to take a train/bus connection leaving Zurich HB at 8:38 and arriving at Brunni 9:55. From Brunni there is a cablecar to Holzegg which is a good starting point for the hike up to the peak of Grosser Mythen (1898m). This hike should be altogether roughly 3hrs and - given good weather conditions - well manageable. But the path is a bit steep in some parts and thus decent shoes are highly recommended. For those who do not feel like going to the top, walking along Panoramaweg Schwyz which passes through Holzegg provides a very scenic alternative with less difference in elevation. For the way back, we could leave from Brunni at 16:05 and be back in Zuerich at 17:22.
There are a few things to take into account:
1) For any type of hike, people should bring some equipment, like shoes, sun protection, bottle of water, etc. |
2) If we're unlucky with weather, the excursion will be canceled. As a fallback option, we try to arrange for a guided tour through Kunsthaus. |
3) For further information, please contact Michael Hoffman. |
