I’m a fifth-year doctoral student with Mothy in the NetOS Group of the Systems Group Institute at ETH Zürich.
My research focuses applying formal methods at the hardware-software boundary as part of the Sockeye project. Modern hardware platforms have become immensely complicated, and what is commonly understood as an “operating system” is but part of a larger de facto OS, a congealed mess of systems software. I’m (co-)leading the Sockeye project with my collaborator Samuel Grütter, which addresses how to configure these complex platforms correctly.
My research aims to better understand and tame the complexity of modern computing platforms with respect to memory protection and component isolation, to provide formal foundations for building reliable operating systems on.
I am also part of the Enzian project, researching high-assurance board management controller software and administering the cluster of working machines.
